About Amanda

Amanda believes that violent offenders, repeat offenders, and those who harm children must face serious consequences, while also recognizing that low-level offenders and individuals struggling with addiction deserve a real chance at rehabilitation when they demonstrate a commitment to change.

Grounded in strong family values, Amanda understands the importance of stability, accountability, and integrity both in the courthouse and beyond. Amanda is dedicated to ensuring that every person who enters the courtroom is treated equally, without regard to race, income, sexuality, religion, or nationality, because fairness under the law is not optional; it is essential.

With experience, strong work ethic, and unwavering principles, Amanda stands ready to serve Terrebonne Parish with integrity.

Born and raised on the banks of Bayou Little Caillou, Amanda Mustin is proud to call Terrebonne Parish home. From 1998 graduate of South Terrebonne High School to current member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians, Amanda has spent her life rooted in the values, traditions, and people that make our area unique. Amanda lives in Houma with her husband of 20 years, John Mattingly, Jr., and their children, Amelia and Jackson. She also enjoys being stepmom to Anthony, who resides in Greenwood, Arkansas.

After graduating from LSU Law School in 2006, Amanda returned to Terrebonne Parish where she has built a career defined by commitment, accountability, and respect for the rule of law. Amanda has 20 years of legal experience which she has dedicated entirely to public service. Amanda has spent the majority of her career with the Terrebonne Parish District Attorney’s Office as a felony prosecutor, where she works to protect the community by handling serious cases with diligence, compassion for victims, and an unwavering pursuit of justice.

Amanda’s experience in the courtroom has shaped a clear judicial philosophy: every person deserves to be treated with fairness and dignity, and every case deserves careful, focused attention. She believes a judge must balance strength with impartiality. Her campaign is built on three guiding principles: fair, firm, and focused. She is committed to ensuring that every individual who appears in her courtroom is heard, respected, and judged according to the law. Nothing more, nothing less.

A hometown girl with a long record of service, Amanda is ready to bring experience, integrity, and dedication to the bench.
